Scoliosis Bracing

Iowa's Premiere Scoliosis Treatment Center

SCOLIOSIS IS A PROGRESSIVE, SIDEWAYS CURVATURE OF THE SPINE

Scoliosis is a condition that affects both children and adults. Though it is most commonly thought of as a childhood condition, it has been discovered to affect an alarming percentage of the adult population over the age of 50.  In children, it can be a more serious condition because of the possibility for rapid progression during growth spurts as the child develops and grows. The effects of scoliosis include: poor posture, altered biomechanics, rib humping, muscle weakness, scapular winging, and pain. Many patients in our practice coming in for scoliosis management are also having digestive issues. In rare cases scoliosis can lead to heart and lung problems.

  • 2-4% of children will develop some form of scoliosis
  • Scoliosis is more common in female population
  • Research shows that up to 40% of adults aged 50-80 with lower back pain have a scoliosis
  • Best outcomes for scoliosis treatment occur with early detection and proper treatment
  • Even in fully mature adults, scoliosis is capable of progressing at a rate of 1-2 degrees per year

The typical ‘watch and wait’ approach is not okay with us.  Many offices take this approach and allow progressive conditions to worsen right under their noses.  Being proactive and doing what is possible for correction or improvement is the direction we take.

SCOLIBRACE®

ScoliBrace® is a unique scoliosis bracing method using the best corrective principles from other current bracing methods.

Body-scans of each patient are performed with 3D imaging software and the brace is customized to fit their unique measurements and body size/shape.

Scolibrace Patients

3D DESIGNED FOR A 3D CONDITION

Scoliosis is absolutely a 3 dimensional condition.  Effective treatments require a 3 dimensional approach. ScoliBrace is created from 3D body-scans in conjunction with x-rays and digital posture analysis. Each brace is then designed using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and custom made for each patient.

Maximizing the amount of reduction to a patient’s scoliosis requires putting their body and spine into the mirror-image or over-corrected positions.  ScoliBrace, partnered with appropriate rehab techniques, delivers a super-corrective effect.  Improvements in curvature, posture, rib humping, and shoulder leveling are achieved in the majority of cases.

ScoliBrace is designed to be simple to put on and take off without any assistance. Easy to put on, easy to wear, BETTER RESULTS!
